Hashvalue Iceland Geothermal Site Achieves Zero-Carbon Mining Amid Global Energy Price Surge

Hashvalue officially announced the operational certification of its Iceland-based geothermal mining site as a zero-carbon facility, marking a major milestone in the platform’s renewable energy transition strategy and climate-aligned compute architecture. The achievement comes amid a backdrop of surging global energy prices and heightened regulatory scrutiny of crypto-related energy usage.
Located in southwestern Iceland, the geothermal-powered site has been developed in partnership with regional renewable infrastructure providers. The 100% clean energy operation utilizes deep geothermal wells and vapor-turbine power systems to feed mining workloads with continuous low-emission electricity.
Covering 9,300 square meters, the data center hosts 2,600 ASIC mining machines and supports BTC, ETC, and select GPU-friendly PoW networks. The deployment is integrated with Hashvalue’s global workload balancing layer, offering clean energy nodes to platform users via “Green Pool Select” contract options.
Independent environmental audits conducted by Nordic carbon assessors certified the site as having a net-zero carbon output. Hashvalue has also integrated the location into its Sustainability Dashboard, where users can view ESG-linked reward streams, energy usage curves, and carbon avoidance metrics from green-aligned node clusters.
Amid rising energy volatility across Europe and Asia, Hashvalue emphasized that geothermal-powered operations provide a resilient pricing structure and uninterrupted hashrate delivery. Energy cost per terahash at the Iceland site is 42% lower than the platform’s global average.
To support miner access, Hashvalue launched a dedicated “Iceland Green Yield Bundle,” allowing users to allocate their hashpower toward geothermal-powered mining with proof-of-origin energy certificates embedded into smart contract metadata.
The Iceland facility also serves as a testbed for low-noise mining design, employing enclosed vapor-cycle cooling and ground-level acoustic baffles that reduce environmental noise output by 48%, making it one of the industry’s most sound-sensitive compute nodes.
In addition to environmental performance, the facility achieved 99.97% uptime during its first operational month and processed over 13.8 million valid shares across its contract pools.
The move has been welcomed by analysts tracking the shift toward ESG-compliant blockchain infrastructure. “Hashvalue’s geothermal integration demonstrates that low-carbon crypto mining is not only possible but economically viable under high-energy cost scenarios,” one analyst noted.
Hashvalue’s leadership commented: “Iceland isn’t just a location—it’s an architectural benchmark for where clean infrastructure and decentralized finance converge. This site is proof that zero-carbon mining can be scaled with integrity.”
Looking forward, Hashvalue intends to replicate the geothermal model in two additional volcanic energy regions and expand its carbon offset token issuance linked to verifiable green node output.
